We rolled the airplane over to the hangar, helped remove the old air filter and install a new one (I believe Pilot Law states, "he who broke it must help fix it") and then went on the XC as planned... just an hour or two late. Except the flames actually burned out part of the air intake filter in the 150.<br /><br />I remember being somewhat amazed at just how well the "keep cranking" advice we all read in our textbooks worked in practice myself.
